Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced peaches and ¾ cup of sugar. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Making the Batter
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, the remaining ¼ cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter into the batter mixture.
Combining and Baking
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, pour the batter evenly across the bottom.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter without stirring.
- If desired, sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the cobbler sit for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This cobbler can last 3-4 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
