Method

Preparation
  1. Gather and measure all your ingredients.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
Brown the Butter
  1. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Combine Ingredients
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In a larger bowl, whisk the cooled brown butter, eggs, apple cider, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Bake
  1. Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each donut cavity about 3/4 full with batter.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Let them cool slightly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Finish
  1. Once cooled, drizzle the donuts with warm salted caramel sauce and enjoy!
