Preparation
- Gather and measure all your ingredients.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
Brown the Butter
- Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Combine Ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a larger bowl, whisk the cooled brown butter, eggs, apple cider, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Bake
- Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each donut cavity about 3/4 full with batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let them cool slightly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Finish
- Once cooled, drizzle the donuts with warm salted caramel sauce and enjoy!
