  • 2 slices slices of your favorite bread
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup choose based on preference
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Halal-friendly crumbled chicken or beef jerky use as a pork substitute
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or Swiss)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients. Make sure to slice the banana and have your cheese ready.
  2. On one slice of bread, spread the creamy peanut butter evenly, reaching all corners. On the other slice, spread honey or maple syrup.
  3. Arrange the sliced banana on top of the peanut butter. Next, sprinkle the crumbled halal-friendly meat over the bananas, followed by the shredded cheese.
  4. Carefully place the other slice of bread on top, honey side down, creating a beautiful sandwich.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat while adding butter. Once melted, place the sandwich on the skillet. Grill for about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Gently flip the sandwich and grill the other side until the cheese melts and the bread is golden. This should take another 3-4 minutes.

Notes

For a healthier twist, swap peanut butter for almond or sunflower seed butter. Use low-carb bread if necessary. Don’t rush the grilling process for a perfectly crispy sandwich. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1-2 days; reheat in a skillet over low heat.
