Method
Preparation
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of cooking oil. Once hot, add the ground turkey and cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and then add the chopped vegetables. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the veggies soften.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted.
Baking
- If you’re using puff pastry, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- If using pita bread, carefully open each pocket. For puff pastry, roll out the dough and cut squares.
- Place a generous scoop of the turkey filling in each pocket.
- For pita bread, gently press the edges to seal. For puff pastry, fold over and crimp the edges with a fork. Brush with a little oil for that golden finish and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Enjoy your freshly baked Turkey Pockets warm, alongside your favorite toppings!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container; they will last up to 3 days in the fridge and up to one month in the freezer. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
