Preparation
- Start by washing the lettuce and slicing the tomato and avocado.
- Cook the turkey bacon until crispy, if using.
Assembly
- Lightly toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
- Layer one slice of turkey on the mayonnaise side of the first slice of bread.
- Add avocado slices, followed by crispy turkey bacon (if using), lettuce, and tomato. Season with salt and pepper.
- Repeat with another slice of bread and layers until you reach the top.
- Place the final slice of toasted bread on top and press down gently.
- Slice the sandwich into quarters or halves and serve immediately.
Notes
Best enjoyed freshly made. If you have leftovers, refrigerate wrapped in plastic wrap for 1-2 days. For freezing, assemble without avocado and mayonnaise.
