Ingredients
  

For the sandwich
  • 8 slices whole grain or sourdough bread Choose your preferred bread.
  • 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
  • 1 whole ripe avocado, sliced Ensure the avocado is ripe but firm.
  • 4 slices Halal turkey bacon, cooked until crispy (optional) Skip if not using.
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves Any variety of lettuce works.
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • ½ cup mayonnaise Adjust to taste.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season to your preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by washing the lettuce and slicing the tomato and avocado.
  2. Cook the turkey bacon until crispy, if using.
Assembly
  1. Lightly toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  2. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
  3. Layer one slice of turkey on the mayonnaise side of the first slice of bread.
  4. Add avocado slices, followed by crispy turkey bacon (if using), lettuce, and tomato. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Repeat with another slice of bread and layers until you reach the top.
  6. Place the final slice of toasted bread on top and press down gently.
  7. Slice the sandwich into quarters or halves and serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed freshly made. If you have leftovers, refrigerate wrapped in plastic wrap for 1-2 days. For freezing, assemble without avocado and mayonnaise.
