  • 5-6 lbs brisket Choose a halal-friendly cut.
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Rinse the brisket under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring to cover every edge.
  5. Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan, fat side up. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce around the brisket.
Cooking
  1. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and roast the brisket in the preheated oven for about 4-6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C).
  2. Once done, remove the brisket from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Serving
  1. Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Feel free to customize the spice mix. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat gently in the oven with added broth for moisture.
