Ingredients

For the Rolls
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
For the Honey Butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional) For added flavor in honey butter

Method

Preparation
  1. Warm the milk in a mixing bowl and combine with the yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then gradually add the dry ingredients to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 pieces, and shape each into a ball. Place in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are close but not touching.
  7. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. While baking, whip together softened butter, honey, and cinnamon for honey butter.
  3. Once the rolls are out of the oven, brush them with melted butter and serve warm with honey butter.

Notes

Store cooled rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes or microwave for 15-20 seconds wrapped in a damp paper towel.
