Ingredients

For the Skewers
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes Opt for fresh chicken for better taste.
  • ¾ cup teriyaki sauce (ensure it’s alcohol-free)
  • 1 cup vegetables (bell peppers, onions, and zucchini, cut into similar sizes) Customize with your favorite vegetables.
  • Wooden or metal skewers (soaked in water if wooden) Soak wooden skewers to prevent burning.
  • sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • green onions, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Method

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken cubes with the teriyaki sauce. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare the Vegetables
  1. Chop up your choice of vegetables. Aim for similar sizes to ensure even cooking.
Skewering
  1. Take your skewers and start to thread the chicken and vegetables, alternating between them. Leave a little space between each piece for even grilling.
Preheat the Grill
  1. Heat up your grill or grill pan on medium-high. Lightly oil the grill to prevent sticking.
Grilling Time
  1. Place the skewers on the hot grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and has a beautiful char.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Once done, remove from the grill, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the skewers to ensure even cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for about 2 months.
