Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth and stir in the melted butter.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture, and mix it in.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gently fold in the flour, being careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, adding more on top if desired.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy the deliciousness!
Notes
Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for 2-3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze individual slices wrapped in plastic.
