Ingredients

Chicken and Sauce
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons butter Divided into two parts
  • 1 cup heavy cream
Pasta
  • 8 ounces pasta (such as penne or fettuccine) Cook according to package instructions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Method

Cooking
  1. Cook the Pasta: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: While the pasta cooks, season the chicken breasts on both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet, tent with foil, and let rest.
  4. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt. Stir in the honey, then slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously to combine. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Everything: Slice the cooked chicken into strips and add it back to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together, adding a little reserved pasta water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with chopped parsley for a fresh finish. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

If you have dietary preferences, you can swap out chicken with plant-based alternatives or shrimp for a delightful seafood twist. Always aim for al dente pasta and avoid overcooking.
