Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F) Should feel like warm bathwater.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar and then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes foamy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add the melted butter and eggs to it. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. You may need more flour depending on humidity; don’t hesitate to adjust!
  4. Lightly flour a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it. Knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  6. After rising, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover the rolls again with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. While the rolls rise, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Once the rolls have risen again, bake them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  10. Remove the rolls from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then serve warm!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
