Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar and then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes foamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add the melted butter and eggs to it. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. You may need more flour depending on humidity; don’t hesitate to adjust!
- Lightly flour a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it. Knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- After rising, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolls again with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- While the rolls rise, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once the rolls have risen again, bake them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Remove the rolls from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then serve warm!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
