Ingredients

Crepe Batter Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk (dairy or any plant-based alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted) Halal-certified recommended
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweet crepes)
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Batter Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the eggs. Gradually whisk the flour into the eggs, then slowly pour in the milk while whisking until you achieve a smooth batter. Add the melted butter and sugar, whisking again.
  2. Let the batter rest for about 10-30 minutes.
Cooking the Crepes
  1. Place a non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little butter or oil.
  2. Pour about ΒΌ cup of batter into the pan, quickly tilting it in a circular motion so the batter spreads evenly across the bottom. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until the edges begin to lift and the bottom is golden.
  3. Use a spatula to gently lift and flip the crepe. Cook for another 1 minute, then transfer to a plate.
  4. Repeat the process, stacking the cooked crepes on a plate. Serve warm with your favorite fillings!

Notes

Ensure your batter is thin enough to spread easily. Letting it rest helps with texture. Experiment with savory or sweet fillings.
