Method
Preparation
- Start by slicing your beef sirloin into thin strips, and cut the bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic.
Combining Ingredients
- In your slow cooker, combine the sliced beef, bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Pour in the beef broth and soy sauce, then add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir gently until everything is well mixed.
Cooking
- Cover your slow cooker and set it on low heat for about 6-8 hours, or high heat for 3-4 hours.
Thickening Sauce
- About 30 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
Serving
- Once the cooking time is done, give everything a good stir, and serve the pepper steak over a generous scoop of cooked rice.
Notes
For maximum tenderness, cooking on low heat for longer is best. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
