Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless pork chops Ensure Halal compliance
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Ensure it is Halal-certified
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Method

Marinating the Chops
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, Dijon mustard, and black pepper. Place your pork chops in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
Cooking the Chops
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until the butter melts and starts to bubble gently.
  2. Once the pan is hot, add the marinated pork chops. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) with a nice glaze formed on the exterior.
Finalizing
  1. As the chops cook, use the leftover marinade to baste the pork for extra flavor.
  2. When ready, remove them from the heat, let them rest for a few minutes, then serve with your desired sides.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave or on low heat in a pan, adding a splash of water or more marinade to restore moisture and flavor.
