Main ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • optional Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Clean the mushrooms using a damp cloth and slice them in halves or quarters depending on their size.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it’s bubbly and fragrant.
  3. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and sauté them for 5-7 minutes until they’re golden brown and tender.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and softened.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the fresh parsley. For an extra touch, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Enjoy these savory mushrooms on their own or as a wonderful accompaniment to your favorite dishes!

Notes

To elevate your mushroom game, avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking. Experiment with different herbs like rosemary or sage, and consider a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat. Be cautious not to burn the garlic.
