Preparation
- Prepare your broccolini: Start by trimming the ends and washing it thoroughly. Make sure you dry it well to ensure even cooking.
- Heat the olive oil: In a large skillet, add the olive oil and place it over medium heat. Let the oil get hot but not smoking.
- Sauté the garlic: Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be cautious not to burn it!
- Add broccolini: Toss in the prepared broccolini, stirring it around to coat with the garlic oil. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until the color turns vibrant green and it’s tender-crisp.
- Finish with lemon: Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat, and drizzle with lemon juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately: Enjoy this delightful dish as a side or even a light main, garnished with your favorite toppings!
Notes
If you don't have broccolini, feel free to use regular broccoli or asparagus. To ensure the broccolini remains crisp, keep an eye on the cooking time. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with olive oil.
