Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 can (15 oz) cut green beans, drained
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced (russet or Yukon gold)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or any cream soup you prefer)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works wonderfully)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh herbs like parsley for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground sausage until cooked through and nicely browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked sausage, green beans, diced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, and half of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Once baked, remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For lighter versions, swap ground sausage for turkey sausage or plant-based alternatives. Drain green beans well to avoid a watery casserole.
