For the Filling
  • 4 cups Fresh Peaches, sliced Can substitute with canned peaches, drained.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar For mixing with peaches.
For the Batter
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Remaining sugar for the batter.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Optional for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Peaches: If using fresh peaches, wash, peel, and slice them into thin wedges. If using canned peaches, drain them well.
  3. Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and set aside.
Making the Batter
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until a smooth mixture forms.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  2. Carefully spoon the peach mixture over the batter, ensuring even distribution.
  3. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
