Ingredients

Smoothie Base
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries (or frozen, but thawed)
  • 1 piece ripe banana (peeled and chopped) Use ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt Opt for Greek yogurt for extra creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional for sweetness.
  • ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • cubes Ice cubes Optional, for a chilled smoothie.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. If you’re using frozen raspberries, let them thaw for a few minutes to ensure easier blending.
  2. In a blender, add the raspberries, chopped banana, yogurt, and milk. If you like your smoothies sweeter, drizzle in the honey or maple syrup.
  3. If you prefer a cooler drink, add a few ice cubes into the blender.
  4. Cover the blender tightly and blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds, or until you reach a creamy consistency. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. Give it a quick taste and adjust sweetness or texture as needed. Want it thicker? Add more yogurt. Need it sweeter? A bit more honey works wonders!
  6. Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses and enjoy immediately to retain its fresh flavors.

Notes

Substitutions: Swap out raspberries for strawberries or blueberries if you’d like. These alternatives provide their own unique taste. Best enjoyed fresh, but you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours in an airtight container. For freezing, pour into ice cube trays or containers, thaw in the refrigerator or blend from frozen.
