  • 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee Use your preferred brewing method.
Milk mixture
  • 1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative) Almond, oat, or soy milk can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree Use pure pumpkin puree, not pie filling.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste) Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice Additional spice can be added for stronger flavor.
Optional toppings
  • to taste whipped cream Adds a creamy finish.
  • to taste additional pumpkin pie spice for garnish Sprinkle on top for extra flavor.

Preparation
  1. Start by brewing your espresso or strong coffee using your preferred method.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and pumpkin puree. Stir constantly until the milk is steaming but not boiling.
  3. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice, and mix until everything is smoothly combined and the sugar has dissolved.
  4. In a large mug, pour the hot coffee, then slowly add the pumpkin spice milk mixture, using a spoon to hold back foam to create layers if desired.
  5. Finish with whipped cream if using, and sprinkle additional pumpkin pie spice on top.
  6. Sip slowly and savor the warm, comforting flavors of fall.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days; reheat gently on the stove or microwave. For stronger pumpkin flavor, add more pumpkin puree or pumpkin pie spice.
