Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 piece fully cooked ham (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple juice or pineapple juice

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together honey, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, cloves, ginger, Dijon mustard, and apple or pineapple juice. Stir until well combined.
  3. Place the fully cooked ham on a cutting board and score the top in a diamond pattern.
  4. Brush about half of the glaze over the scored ham, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
Baking
  1. Place the ham in a roasting pan lined with foil and bake for about 15 minutes per pound, basting with the reserved glaze every 20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
  2. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (204°C) during the last 10-15 minutes of baking for a golden finish.
  3. Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Try using maple syrup instead of honey or adding a splash of orange juice for a citrusy twist. Always use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness.
