Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup peanut butter Creamy or crunchy based on preference.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup Can be substituted with honey or agave syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by greasing a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and light corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the peanut butter mixture and gently mix until the cereal is thoroughly coated.
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased pan and use a spatula to evenly spread it out, pressing gently to create an even layer.
  6. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or bars and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, do not rush the cooling process. Allowing them to set properly maintains their texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week, refrigerate for two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
