  • 1 pound halal sausage Can be substituted with turkey or chicken sausage.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar cheese works great!
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup For sweetness and flavor enhancement.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the halal sausage until browned and fully cooked through. Break it into bite-sized pieces and drain excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until combined. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, mix the pancake mix, cooked sausage, and egg mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the shredded cheese and maple syrup.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into squares and serve with extra maple syrup or fruits.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze individual portions for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
