Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Rinse your brisket under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the brisket and sear each side until it’s brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Pour the beef broth into the skillet around the brisket (not on top). Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.
- Once cooked through, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
- Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
Store leftovers wrapped in foil in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and warm covered with foil for 30-45 minutes.
