Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs (make them from crushed Oreos!) Ensure all cookies are crushed fine.
  • 1 cup protein powder (your favorite flavor) Vanilla or other flavors can also be used.
  • 1/2 cup almond butter Can substitute with other nut butters.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup For vegan option, use maple syrup.
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional, but recommended!) Use dark or semi-sweet as preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos: Start by placing your Oreos in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs. You could also use a food processor for a finer texture.
  2. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs, protein powder, almond butter, honey or maple syrup, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix it Up: Use a spatula, or even your hands, to mix everything until it forms a sticky dough. Make sure you thoroughly combine all the ingredients.
  4. Roll into Balls: Once combined, scoop out the mixture with a tablespoon and roll it into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Chill: Place the rolled protein balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow them to set and firm up.
  6. Serve: Enjoy your delicious Oreo Protein Balls straight from the fridge or store them for later!

Notes

For decorative touch, roll the protein balls in additional Oreo crumbs or cocoa powder before chilling. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
