  • 1 package Oreos (crushed) For the cake base and garnish
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Use your favorite brand
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened for easier mixing
  • 1 cup milk Use whole or low-fat as preferred
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted) For moistness and flavor
  • 1 container whipped topping For serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, blend the chocolate cake mix, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
Layering
  1. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the crushed Oreos evenly on top, followed by dollops of cream cheese.
  3. Cover with the remaining cake batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  2. Top with whipped cream and optional garnishes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to enjoy later.
