Cooking
- In a large pan, add a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the Halal sausage to the pan. Use a spatula to break it up. Cook until it’s browned and fully cooked, typically about 5-7 minutes.
- Toss in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, approximately 1 minute. Be careful not to let it burn!
- Add the fresh spinach to the pan. Stir frequently, cooking until it’s wilted down, which should only take about 2-3 minutes.
- Lower the heat slightly and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to combine the ingredients into a luscious sauce.
- Add the tortellini to the pan and cook according to the package instructions, which usually takes about 5 minutes. Stir gently to coat the pasta evenly.
- Once the tortellini is cooked through, sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and creates a creamy texture throughout. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm and enjoy this delightful creamy dish straight from the pan!
Notes
If you don’t have Halal sausage, ground chicken or beef can work just as well. You can also swap the heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version. Ensure the sausage is fully cooked before adding the cream to keep the sauce from becoming greasy.
