Preparation
- Start with your sliced bread. You can use any type based on your preference—white or whole wheat both work well.
- Lightly butter one side of each slice. Remember, this will be the outside of your pie, so be generous!
- On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread a heaping tablespoon of Nutella, making sure to spread it evenly to the edges for maximum chocolaty goodness.
- Top each Nutella-covered slice with another slice of bread, buttered side up. Gently press down the edges to seal your delightful pies.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren’t overcrowded. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Serving
- Once cooked, remove the pies from the air fryer, and while still warm, dust with powdered sugar. If you like, add some sliced strawberries or bananas on the side. Enjoy!
Notes
If you’re looking for alternatives, try almond butter as a filling or a blend of Nutella and peanut butter for a unique twist. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
