- Preheat the oven:
- Set to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Make the meat sauce:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, sausage, and onion until browned.
- Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Prepare the creamy cheese mixture:
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, egg, garlic powder, and parsley until smooth.
- Assemble the lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the dish.
- Add a layer of cooked noodles.
- Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Add another layer of meat sauce, then sprinkle with mozzarella.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the final layer.
- Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Rest and serve:
- Let the lasagna rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing for neat layers.
Notes
For extra flavor, add crushed red pepper or fresh basil to the sauce.
You can substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if preferred.
Freezer-friendly: assemble and freeze unbaked lasagna for up to 3 months.
Great served with garlic bread and a fresh Caesar salad.
