  • 1 bag frozen French fries (about 28 oz) Use your favorite brand.
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded Substitutes like Mozzarella or Pepper Jack can be used.
  • 1 cup Halal beef or chicken bits Optional for added protein.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños Optional for a spicy kick.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your frozen French fries package, typically set at 425°F (220°C).
  2. Spread frozen fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss them around to ensure every fry is coated.
Cooking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through for even cooking.
  2. Once the fries are done, take them out of the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hot fries. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Remove the loaded fries from the oven. Top with Halal beef or chicken bits if using, sliced green onions, sour cream, and jalapeños. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the fries on the baking sheet. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
