Preparation
- Make sure all your vegetables are chopped and your rice is ready. If using leftover rice, break up any clumps for even cooking.
- Place a large skillet or wok over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Let it heat up.
- Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it!
- Toss in your mixed vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until they are tender but still vibrant in color.
- Next, add your cooked rice to the skillet. Use a spatula to break up any chunks and combine everything evenly.
- Pour the soy sauce over the rice mixture, mixing well to ensure every grain is coated with flavor. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- If you’re including an egg, push the rice mixture to the side of the skillet and crack it open. Scramble it until cooked, then mix it into the rice.
- Finally, fold in the chopped green onions and stir for another minute. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Use day-old rice for the best texture. Customize your vegetables according to your preference. Make sure your pan is hot enough to sauté the vegetables properly.
