Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients. Finely chop the onion and bell pepper, ensuring they are ready for cooking.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook until tender, roughly 4-5 minutes.
- Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir well to combine and season with salt and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture generously over the bottom halves of the slider buns. Top with cheese slices.
- Bake the assembled sliders in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Remove from the oven and, if desired, top with pickles before placing the top halves of the buns on. Serve warm.
Notes
For substitutions, you can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Ensure to allow your beef to brown properly for more flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Freeze without buns for better reheating results.
