  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened At room temperature

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped For freshness
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese Optional, for extra flavor
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Using a serrated knife, slice the sourdough loaf diagonally without cutting all the way through.
  4. Generously push the garlic butter mixture into each cut of the sourdough.
  5. If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan on top of the loaf.
  6. Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped loaf in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  2. After 15 minutes, carefully unwrap the foil and allow the bread to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Once baked, remove the garlic bread from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice it up, and serve it warm.

Notes

For an extra kick, roast your garlic instead of using it raw. Store leftovers in a resealable bag at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes wrapped in foil.
