Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef is preferred.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Steamed until tender.
  • 1/4 cup honey For sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium is preferred.
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • Cooked rice or noodles For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Steam the broccoli florets until vibrant green and slightly tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess grease, and pour the sauce mixture over the beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Gently fold in the steamed broccoli, ensuring everything is well combined and heated through for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot over a bed of rice or noodles.

Notes

Opt for lean beef to reduce grease. Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick, and consider using other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
