Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 tablespoons butter Unsalted preferred
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure your shrimp is properly peeled and deveined to save time. Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and let them drain.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter and allow it to melt.
  2. Once the butter is melted and bubbling slightly, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant—being careful not to let it brown, as it can turn bitter.
  3. Now, add the shrimp to the pan. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Toss in the broccoli florets. Stir everything to combine, and cover the skillet for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the broccoli to steam and become tender-crisp.
  5. Once the broccoli is done, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish for a zesty finish. Serve immediately with additional lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For substitutions, swap shrimp for chicken breast or tofu as preferred. Mind the cooking time for shrimp to avoid rubbery texture. Always taste before serving and adjust seasonings accordingly.
