Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons harissa paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by draining and rinsing the butter beans to remove excess sodium.
  2. In a medium skillet, add the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté it for about a minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the harissa paste, combining it well with the sautéed garlic. Allow it to cook for another minute.
  4. Toss the butter beans into the skillet and gently stir to combine, making sure all the beans are coated with the harissa mix. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until everything is heated through.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the beans to a serving dish and sprinkle fresh parsley on top. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Substitutions: Swap harissa with other spice blends like smoked paprika for a different flavor. Timing: Letting the garlic cook until golden enhances its sweetness. Avoid overcooking the beans; they should be tender but intact.
