Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Optional for serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, yielding around 12-15 meatballs.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides for about 5 minutes.
  2. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked and an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) is reached.
Serving
  1. If using marinara sauce, warm it in a separate pan. Serve the meatballs over a bowl of rice topped with the sauce. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For best results, use lean ground beef and avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to keep them tender. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
