Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir in a few drops of green food coloring.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Sprinkle red and white candies or sprinkles on top before baking.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes.
