  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for easy blending
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 8 oz Cool Whip Fold it gently to maintain fluffiness
For the crust and topping
  • 1 pie crust Graham Cracker Crust (pre-made or homemade) Crust can also be made from crushed cookies like Oreos
  • 1 can Cherry Pie Filling (about 21 oz) Can garnish with fresh cherries on top
  • optional Fresh Cherries For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend until smooth and creamy. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
  2. Gently fold the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture. Be careful not to overmix.
Assembly
  1. Pour the creamy filling into the graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  2. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the creamy layer and distribute the cherries evenly.
Chill
  1. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day ahead for enhanced flavors. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Best served chilled.
