  • 1 oz sharp cheddar cheese Shredded for better melting.
  • 1 oz Gruyère cheese Shredded for better melting.
  • 1 oz brie cheese Can substitute with other cheeses if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Generously spread on bread.

  • to taste sliced tomatoes Adds a fresh flavor.
  • to taste fresh basil For added freshness.
  • to taste sun-dried tomatoes Adds a tangy flavor.
  • to taste caramelized onions For sweetness.
  • to taste avocado For creaminess.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your skillet: Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter the bread: Generously spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Assemble the sandwich: On the non-buttered side of one slice, layer the shredded cheddar, Gruyère, and brie. Add any extras you desire, like sliced tomatoes or caramelized onions.
  4. Top it off: Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
Cooking
  1. Cook the sandwich: Place the sandwich carefully in the skillet. Cook until the bottom is golden brown—about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Flip it: Gently flip the sandwich over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and both sides are golden.
  3. Serve and enjoy: Remove from heat, cut it in half if desired, and enjoy your delicious gourmet creation!

Notes

For the best flavor, use blocks of cheese and shred them yourself. Leftovers can be wrapped and stored in the fridge, and reheated in a skillet to retain crispiness.
