Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Ribeye steaks (approximately 1 inch thick) Choose well-marbled cuts for best flavor.
  • 1 lb Shrimp (peeled and deveined) Fresh or thawed frozen shrimp can be used.
  • 4 tbsp Butter Use unsalted butter for better control over seasoning.
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin olive oil adds flavor.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) Adjust to taste.
  • to taste Salt Season according to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground pepper is recommended.
  • optional Fresh parsley (for garnish) Chop finely before using as garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Allow the ribeye steaks to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Steak
  1. In a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the pan.
  2. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a beautiful crust forms.
Flip the Steaks
  1. Carefully flip the steaks and add 2 tablespoons of butter and half of the minced garlic to the pan.
  2. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness, basting the steaks with the melted butter and garlic.
Rest the Steaks
  1. Once cooked to your preference, transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
Cook the Shrimp
  1. In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
  2. Toss in the rest of the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp, seasoning them with a little salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
Combine and Serve
  1. Plate the steaks alongside the shrimp, drizzling any remaining garlic butter from the pan on top.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Consider using alternative proteins like chicken or plant-based options if desired. Ensure steaks rest adequately before slicing to maintain juices. Always preheat the skillet for the best sear.
