Method
Preparation
- Allow the ribeye steaks to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Steak
- In a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the pan.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a beautiful crust forms.
Flip the Steaks
- Carefully flip the steaks and add 2 tablespoons of butter and half of the minced garlic to the pan.
- Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness, basting the steaks with the melted butter and garlic.
Rest the Steaks
- Once cooked to your preference, transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
Cook the Shrimp
- In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
- Toss in the rest of the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp, seasoning them with a little salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
Combine and Serve
- Plate the steaks alongside the shrimp, drizzling any remaining garlic butter from the pan on top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Consider using alternative proteins like chicken or plant-based options if desired. Ensure steaks rest adequately before slicing to maintain juices. Always preheat the skillet for the best sear.
