Ingredients
  

Cheesecake Layer
  • 2 packages 8-ounce packages of cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy blending.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package 10-ounce package of frozen strawberries, thawed (or fresh)
Cake Topping
  • 1 box Classic Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Drizzle evenly for best results.
  • 1 cup water Do not stir after pouring.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the thawed strawberries evenly on the bottom of your greased baking dish.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries, gently spreading it to cover as much as possible.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the entire box of yellow cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix and follow that by pouring in the water. Do not stir; let it bake as is!
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the oven and bake for approximately 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before serving warm, topped with whipped cream or fresh strawberries if you desire!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped for up to 2 months.
