Preparation
- Start with thawing your raw shrimp (if using frozen). Rinse them under cold water, then pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne if you're feeling adventurous. Whisk everything together until well-blended.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and gently toss until coated in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap or a lid, and let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
Cooking
- Grill, bake, or sauté your marinated shrimp for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are pink and opaque.
- Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter, sprinkle with fresh parsley or cilantro, and enjoy with your favorite side.
Notes
For maximum flavor, allow your shrimp to marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. Be careful not to over-marinate, as the acid from the lemon juice can make the shrimp mushy. You can also use this marinade on boneless chicken thighs.
