Ingredients

Pasta and Cream Sauce Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Pasta (your choice, such as fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti) Cooked al dente
  • 2 cups Mushrooms (sliced, preferably cremini or button)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (or butter)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated) For mixing and garnishing
  • a handful Fresh parsley (for garnish, finely chopped)

Method

Cook the Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Mushroom Sauce
  1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil (or butter) over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
Create the Cream Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream, mixing everything together and allowing it to simmer gently for 3-4 minutes. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually until you achieve your desired consistency.
Combine
  1. Add the drained pasta to the mushroom cream sauce, tossing everything together gently. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Serve the pasta warm, garnished with fresh parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired.
