  • 12 pieces won ton wrappers
  • 1 pound ground beef (or halal ground turkey/chicken) Substitute with minced chicken or turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1 jar marinara sauce 24 oz jar recommended.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Reserve some for topping.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly coat a muffin tin with non-stick spray. Press a won ton wrapper into each muffin cup, gently molding it to fit.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce and allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spoon a layer of the meat sauce into each won ton wrapper, followed by a dollop of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining mozzarella on top.
  2. Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the edges of the wrappers are crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
Serving
  1. Let the cups cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, store for up to a month, and reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
