Preparation
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until the vegetables start to soften, about 3-5 minutes.
Cooking
- Increase the heat slightly and add the ground beef. Cook until it's fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, around 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 7-10 minutes, allowing the cabbage to wilt and soak in the flavors.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serving
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (if using) and serve warm.
Notes
You can easily swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Avoid overcooking the cabbage; it should be tender but still slightly crunchy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to three months.
