Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef or any ground meat of your choice, ensuring it's halal
  • ½ head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 piece bell pepper (any color), diced
Spices and Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until the vegetables start to soften, about 3-5 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Increase the heat slightly and add the ground beef. Cook until it's fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, around 7-10 minutes.
  2. Stir in the chopped cabbage, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 7-10 minutes, allowing the cabbage to wilt and soak in the flavors.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serving
  1. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (if using) and serve warm.

Notes

You can easily swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Avoid overcooking the cabbage; it should be tender but still slightly crunchy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to three months.
