  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped You can use green or savoy cabbage.
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds more flavor.
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes No need to drain.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Low sodium soy sauce can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Smoked paprika adds a nice flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is best.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with canola oil.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent (around 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Mix well and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage wilts.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes, soy sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let everything simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once everything is well combined and heated through, serve your hearty skillet dinner hot!

Notes

To round out this meal, consider serving it with white rice or whole grain bread. A green salad or roasted vegetables would complement this dish well.
