Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 ounces 1 package gnocchi About 16 ounces
  • 1 cup 1 cup peas Fresh or frozen
  • 1 pound 1 pound sausage Italian or preferred type, Halal
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves 2 garlic cloves Minced
  • 1 cup 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese For serving

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Crumble the Halal sausage into the skillet and cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  2. Once the sausage is browned, add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and add the gnocchi. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes or until the gnocchi is cooked through. If using frozen peas, add them during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Taste and adjust if necessary.
  6. Serve hot, and generously top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a veggie twist, replace the sausage with tofu or chickpea crumble. Don't skip browning the sausage to enhance flavor, and avoid overcooking the gnocchi.
