Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 200 grams feta cheese
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with almond flour or chickpea flour for gluten-free.
  • 0.25 cup olive oil For frying.
  • to taste Lemon wedges For serving.
  • to taste Fresh herbs (such as parsley or oregano) Optional for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cutting the feta cheese into slices that are about ½ inch thick.
Coating
  1. Put the flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each slice of feta cheese in the flour, ensuring both sides are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.
Heating Oil
  1. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot enough to sizzle when feta is added but not smoking.
Frying Feta
  1. Carefully place the floured feta slices in the pan, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Remove the crispy feta from the pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and sprinkle fresh herbs on top if desired.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot for even frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a hot skillet or air fryer for best results.
