Method
Cooking the Pasta
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.
Cooking the Chicken
- In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Sauté until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown, about 6-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.
Making the Sauce
- In the same pot, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combining and Serving
- Add the cooked chicken back into the pot along with the cooked linguine.
- Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with Parmesan cheese on the side if desired.
